Robert H. Goodsell, of Niagara Falls, NY, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at his home, under the care of his son and Niagara Hospice. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 24, 1924, the son of the late Harold and Fern (Hagar) Goodsell.Mr. Goodsell attended local schools and although losing an eye as a youth, enlisted in the US Army. He served on the beaches at Normandy and saw action in Northwest Europe. He received several medals for his service. He was a plumber with George B. Edwards Plumbing for over 35 years, before retiring in 1982.Mr. Goodsell is survived by one son, David H. (Cathy) Goodsell; his grandchildren, whom he adored, Dylan and Alexandria Goodsell. He was the father of the late Roger Goodsell.Friends are invited to attend funeral services with Military Honors on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 5871 Military Road, Lewiston, NY. Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice. Interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Visit www.rhoneyfuneralhome.com for guest register.

Dear Dave and Cathy, I just heard of your dad's death. You have given your children a wonderful example of what real love is all about. You were a good son and daughter to him in his last few difficult years. A rare commodity these days and an inspiration to the rest of us. God bless you and may your father finally rest in peace.
