Robert Gorman Bonita Springs, FL
Robert 'Bob' Gorman passed away on April 26, 2015 peacefully at Joanne's House. Born on January 15, 1934, he attended Great Neck High School and was a graduate of the University of Vermont. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army Infantry.
He began his professional career at Liberty Mutual, selling property and casualty insurance. He worked for 32 years at Connecticut General Life Insurance (CIGNA). Bob began his company career in 1961 in the New York City branch office. He joined the home office in 1967 as supervisor of agency training and was appointed assistant director of Special Marketing in 1972. Bob retired from CIGNA as vice president in the group pension operation.
Upon retirement in 1994, he moved to Bonita Springs in the community of Pelican Landing. Bob was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, Pelican Nest Golf Club where he served on the board. He touched the lives of many people with his sense of humor all the way to the end of his life.
Bob is survived by Jean, his adoring wife of 58 years; children, Robert Gorman Jr. of Columbia, SC, John Gorman of Chagrins Falls, OH, and Laurie Gorman Piasio of Falmouth, ME; six grandchildren, Bryan, Tommy, Christopher, Connor, Meaghan, and Shane.
Memorial services for a beloved husband, father and grandfather will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, FL, 9751 Bonita Beach Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs or charity of choice.

Many fond memories of Bob continue to bring delight as they come to mind. He was a compassionate leader and valued manager for those of us in the CG family.
