Mr. Robert Paul Green, Jr., 84, of Charlotte passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Autumn Care Nursing Center. Robert was born on December 13, 1932 in Clarendon County, SC to the late Robert P. Green, Sr. and Eula Frost Green. He was a retired meteorologist with the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. Robert graduated from Penn State University with a degree in meteorology and a degree in history. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Vern Green, Ruth Green Dunn and Carl Green. Survivors include his wife, Doris Edmonds Green of Charlotte,, two daughters, Karen Turbeville and husband Gerry of Rock Hill , SC, Pamela Ray and husband Daniel of Morganton and one sister, Jean Gilbert of Lamar, SC. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Matthew, Brandon and Nathan Krieger and Victoria Ray. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Florence Memorial Gardens in Florence, SC with Minister Jeff Lovitt officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. in the Florence Memorial Gardens Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Autumn Care of Drexel in memory of Robert and sent to 307 Oakland Ave. Drexel, NC 28619.
