Robert Grunin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 21, 2018.
Robert E. Grunin, of Newton, formerly of West Roxbury, entered into rest on Sunday, October 21, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Simin Grunin, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Julius and Pearl (Margolis) Grunin.

Bob was devoted to his family and his Jewish community and they were devoted to him. He found friendships everywhere he went - from his synagogue, to the workplace, to fellow bus riders on his commute, to his masonic lodge. He was happy sharing stories of his experiences but was also content sitting listening to his large Persian family converse around him. He had diverse interests in music and books. One of his greatest pleasures in the last several years was seeing his grandchildren near daily, and they were blessed by his presence in their lives. He will be missed deeply and dearly by all that knew him.

In addition to his wife, Simin, left to cherish his memory is his loving son, Avi and his wife Nora; and cherished grandchildren, Daria Grunin, Olivia Grunin, and Noah Grunin.

A funeral service for Robert was held on Monday, October 22nd, at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St., Brookline, MA, with burial at the Sephardic Congregation of New England Cemetery on Baker Street, West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to The American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or via www.cancer.org.
