Robert Harris Sr.

Robert Harris Sr. 1937 - 2009 PETERSBURGH, N.Y. Robert William Harris Sr. 72, died suddenly Saturday, July 11, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. He resided on Church Hollow Road in Petersburgh with his wife Clarice. Robert was born on Jan. 5, 1937, in North Adams, Mass., son of the late Edward L. and Eldora Gellinas Harris. He attended schools in North Adams and was a former member of the National Guard. Robert worked in the construction business and did various types woodworking. He enjoyed hunting, camping and the outdoors. Other than his wife Clarice, he also leaves his daughter Darlene Denue and Robert of Bennington; sons, Robert W. Harris Jr. of Mechanicville, N.Y., Timothy Harris of Hoosick, N.Y., and Michael Harris of Petersburgh; sister, Hazel Mullens of Schuylerville, N.Y., brother, Harold Harris and Leona of Stephentown, N.Y., also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son David, sister Virginia and a brother Edward. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services will be Thursday July 16 at 1 p.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Route 7, Pownal, Vt. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, New York. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shaftsbury Animal Shelter through the funeral home.
