Robert Hartman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 4, 2010.
Robert J. Hartman, Jr. A loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend, Bob Hartman died suddenly on October 4, 2010, his 69th birthday. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1941, Bob was a leader to some, a mentor to many and an inspiration to all. He encouraged friends and family alike with his bright outlook, intuitive guidance and optimistic storytelling, never hesitating to help others by sharing his time and life experiences. His greatest passion was watching his sons become men and fathers, and spending time with his grandchildren, a new generation to coach and guide. Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rae Anne, whom he met during college, quickly married and embarked on the lifetime adventures of raising three sons together. Bob dedicated 25 years of his career working in various positions at the DuPont Company. An entrepreneur at heart, he launched his own consulting firm in 1991 to assist and motivate other entrepreneurs in bringing their dreams to fruition. One of the highlights of his life was a day spent on the driving range with his idol, golfer Arnold Palmer, exchanging life experiences and pondering a potential business partnership. In addition to Rae Anne, Bob is survived by his sons Eric (Brooke) of Columbus, Ohio; Jeffrey of Baltimore, Maryland; and Timothy (Janine) of Arlington, Virginia. “Grandpa will be happily remembered by grandson, Colton, and granddaughters Keegan and Caroline. Bob is also survived by sisters Suzanne Kaula of Orofino, Idaho and Kathleen Wadhwani of Los Altos Hills, California, and his brother John Hartman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was also a beloved brother-in-law and uncle. A celebration of his life will be held at the Deerfield Golf and Tennis Club, 507 Thompson Station Road in Newark, Delaware on Friday, October 8 at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association (http://www.alz.org, or 800-272-3900).
