My first memory of Robert Horton was on "Wagon Train". He was one of my first "crushes" ... as he was extremely good looking and played such a good guy.
What made me think of him recently is that I was watching "Alfred Hitchcock" and he was in two episodes...of course, he did not disappoint! (though I was disappointed to learn of his passing in 2016).
Rest in Peace, Flint !

Growing up my dad and I were western buffs. Wagon Train we watched all the episodes that were made. I still am watching and every time I watch Wagon Train and see Robert my eyes become dreamy as if I am 16 years old. Robert was the "Total Package" - debonair, handsome, a smile that would make you melt like butter, and that voice when he would sing- "Oh My". God Bless.

I never watched Wagon Train as a kid growing up. When COVID struck us a few years ago I started watching INSP western shows. Watched a couple of Wagon Train episodes but it was episodes that Robert Horton didn´t star in. Finally I watched him as Flint, Wagon Trains scout and that was luv at first sight! I have been watching Flint on WTrain ever since that first time I saw him. Robert Horton was a great actor on every show I saw him acting in. I did a lot of research on him and found out about his theater work and his singing career. Oh that singing voice. I have him recorded singing several songs in theater, for the Queen and TV shows. I will continue to watch Wagon Train until I have seen ALL the episodes with Robert(Flint M.) Horton

Robert Horton was just perfect and I watched every episode of Wagon Train when I was 13/14 years old. I was bewitched by him. I just heard the song to Wagon Train sung by Robert Horton, and it brought back all the memories of that time in my life. So poignant and nostalgic. There will never be any one like him to me. He was absolutely stunning, both in his looks and acting. I hope, wherever you are now, you are enjoying a magical time in that other world.

My condolence to his wife. She must miss him after such an enduring marriage. Robert was handsome, very manly. Something missing in this new generation. I just discovered watching wagon train and looked Robert up on biography. Can´t wait to listen to his singing voice. I am also a fan of his replacement Robert Fuller very similar, they shared the same birthdate, only 9 years apart. Just really great old shows. My husband watches it with me! Claims nothing like gun smoke and wagon train! And yes people like me do read these! Lol

An awesome actor who did not just play a character but always fully developed the character including a background. He and Ward Bond though not always seeing eye to eye on things never let those differences show in the portrayal of their characters on Wagon Train. They were both true professionals Loved the show when I was. Kid and have rediscovered it during theses trying times of COVID 19. Makes me feel good and the good guys like Horton , Bond and the other regulars help me to have faith in humankind. I know it was just a show but there was and continues to be people like theses guys in the real world. I’ve been lucky enough to know more than a few of them. When they leave this world, they leave us these wonderful legacies, some times in the form of old TV shows like Wagon Train. Rest In Peace to all these people.
