Robert Hudson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 16 to Mar. 18, 2023.
Robert ("Bob") Hudson passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, March 13th. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a generous and steadfast friend.

Bob was born, raised and spent much of his adult life in Omaha, Nebraska. After four years in the army, he returned to Omaha and launched his career with the Omaha Fire Department. Bob had a passion for helping people in need and serving his community and quickly rose to the level of District Chief. After an illustrious 28 years with the Fire Department, Bob retired in 1994 and he and his wife, Bobbie, enjoyed two years travel-trailering throughout North America, until they finally put down roots along the Front Range of Colorado. Bob relished hosting family and friends at what he called "B 'n B's Bed and Breakfast.

Bob was a dedicated family man and happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren. Although Bob was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1997, it did not deter him from hiking in Colorado, traveling, grandbaby sitting, attending grandchildren's birthday parties, sporting events, and graduations. Bob loved travel and adventure and, even with advanced Parkinson's, he was eager to join family reunions, including trips with family to San Diego and Belize in the last two years. Bob was known for his sense of humor and ability to make everyone around him laugh!

Bob is survived by his wife, Bobbie, his daughter Trisha Clifton and husband Trent and their sons Alec and Cole of Denver, Colorado; and his son Steve and wife Stephanie and their children Derek, Sadie (Sean), Tyler (Mallori) and Brennan of Omaha, Nebraska. He also loved all his nieces and nephews, including, Chelsea (Jason) Lacy (Zach), Jack E. (Marla), Ethan (Jessica), and Trevor (Ashli).

Bob's friends and family are invited to join us as we lay Bob to rest with military honors at Omaha National Cemetery at 12:30pm on Friday, April 14th. A luncheon celebration of Bob's life will follow from 1:30-4pm at the Omaha Firefighters Hall (6005 Grover Street).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's name can be made to the Parkinson's Association of the Rockies (parkinsonrockies.org).
