Robert D. Kinsella, 76, Mandan, died July 8, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Msgr. Chad Gion as celebrant. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by the Mandan VFW Post #707 and American Legion Post #40. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan with a Men of the Moose Ritual at 6:30 pm followed by a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Robert was born on Christmas Day, 1937 to Henry and Regina (Ressler) Kinsella in Bismarck, ND. He was raised and educated in the Mandan area. Robert entered the United States Navy and served his country in Lebanon and Vietnam before retiring after 20 years of service and taking a Civil Service job as a packer/woodworker for the United States Government. Robert was active in his community and was a member of the Elks, Moose, Eagles, Am Vets and Federal Wildlife Preserve; he also was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed coin collecting. Robert will be deeply missed by son, Robert, Mount Gilend, OH; granddaughter, Lacie Eden Kinsella, Mount Gilend, OH; sisters, June (Fred) Broder, Long Beach, CA, Karen Snider, Mandan, ND, Dixie (Rodney) Bruce, Horace, ND and Jacquelin (Allen) Fandrick, West Fargo, ND; brothers, James (Linda) Kinsella, Mandan, ND, Harold (Phyllis) Kinsella, Mandan, ND, Gary Kinsella, West Palm Beach, FL and Timothy Kinsella, Huff, ND. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Regina; daughter, Lynn Kinsella and brother-in-law, Kenny Snider. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery or Spirit of Life Catholic Church in Mandan.
