Robert Kleha Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 12, 2010.
Robert M. Kleha Sr. of Scranton died Monday morning at Hospice Community Care in Dunmore following a long illness. His wife of 41 years is the former Marianne Blazys.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Michael J. Sr. and Hannah May Henry Kleha, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and served proudly in the Marine Corps. Robert was very bright and talented in numerous areas. He could fix anything and loved the challenge. He worked for 12 years at the former Elliot Co., Scranton, as an industrial electrician. After Elliot Co. moved to Pittsburgh, he was employed by WEA Manufacturing/Time Warner as a facilities manager supervisor until his retirement.

He was a Cubmaster of Pack 84, Immaculate Conception Church, with Dr. William Yeomans for a number of years, and he really enjoyed working with and teaching the Cub Scouts. He was a member and past master of Green Ridge Lodge, Scranton, and member of Elm Park United Methodist Church, Scranton. He loved Lionel trains and had an impressive collection of trains, accessories and a number of Angela Thomas artworks.

Robert was a talented artist and was chosen by Terrence Gallagher as a middle-school student to draw and paint the billboards at Memorial Stadium, Scranton. Robert was proud of his sons and devoted to his loving grandsons and his dogs, Jenna, Niko and Terri.

The family will be forever thankful and grateful for all the kindness and care afforded to Robert by Dr. Richard Martin and his incredible staff at Geisinger Medical Group, and Dr. Henry Yeager and the compassionate and dedicated team at Hospice Community Care.

Also surviving are twin sons, Mark C. Kleha and Robert M. Kleha Jr. and wife, Kim, all of Scranton; two grandsons, Austin and Ethan Kleha; a brother, Michael J. Kleha Jr. and wife, Bonnie, Scranton; and a sister, Joan MacDerment and husband, Hugh, Lake Winola.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Virginia O'Malley, pastor, Elm Park United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors, St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends may call Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
