Robert Kowalick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 30, 2024.
Robert Anthony Kowalick, 43, of Tucson, Arizona, died on December 26, 2023. Born on February 24, 1980, in Logansport, Indiana, Cass County, Robert brought love and care to all those around him. He was known for his well-mannered and friendly nature, always lighting up the room with his wonderful smile. Robert had a great sense of humor and a reserved yet friendly personality.

In his younger years, Robert excelled as an athlete, playing t-Ball and little league as an outfielder and a pitcher. He also showed great skill in soccer as a wing man and a kicker. Robert's loyalty knew no bounds, and he would always protect those he loved. He had a deep affection for pets, particularly dogs and cats, and enjoyed activities such as swimming, going on walks, and traveling.

Robert and his family traveled to several states as his father was in the Air Force. After being born in Indiana Robert, his mother and their two dogs moved to Florida for two years to be near family while his dad was stationed out of the country in Germany, then they all moved to South Dakota for three years and finally to Tucson in 1986. Robert and his mother traveled to Germany for five weeks to spend time with Carl. Carl also came home to celebrate Christmas together in Florida.

Robert is survived by his Mother Judy Kowalick, Aunt Pamela Allen, Aunt Chris Kowalick, Uncles Anthony, Daniel, Wiliam, James and Thomas Kowalick, as well as many cousins including Walter Hinz. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl D. Kowalick, his grandparents H. Robert Allen and Virgnia B. Allen, and his grandparents Anthony S. Kowalick and Margaret Kowalick.

Robert received his primary education at Wheeler Elementary and Secrist Middle School. He later attended Santa Rita and PPEP Tech High Schools. Robert enjoyed volunteering at the Tucson Veterans Administration Hospital for several summers. While he did not pursue higher education, Robert's passion for learning and growth continued throughout his life.

A person of faith, Robert worshipped at The Episcopal Church of St. Matthew in Tucson, AZ. He found solace and community within the church.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed following sports, both collegiate and professional, as well as appreciating graffiti and listening to music, especially singing Karaoke.

A Celebration of Life Service to honor and remember Robert will be held on February 24, 2024, at The Episcopal Church of St. Matthew, located at 9071 East Old Spanish Trail, Tucson, AZ, beginning at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Episcopal Church of St. Matthew or the NAMI SA Endowment Fund.

The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brings, located in Tucson, AZ.

Robert was the light of his parents' lives. My limited opportunities to spend time with him demonstrated the gentle nature and good humor that filled Judy's heart. We're sad that he was taken so suddenly and unexpectedly. May he rest in peace with the Lord who watched over him.
