It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Kuban, who departed this life on July 6th at the age of 69.

Robert was born on September 12th, 1955, in Richmond Texas, to Willie Mae Kuban and Robert Kuban II of Needville. He lived a life marked by following his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ first while focusing on family and friends. He was a friend to everyone, and his presence brought light and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was known for his hard work ethic. He worked for Dow chemical company for 40 years. Any gadget or problem you had he could fix it right up or invent something new. He loved hunting and anything outdoors. He almost never missed Church services and loved to volunteer at the food pantry. He always had a way to make us laugh with his silly jokes or riddles. He also enjoyed playing Sudoku in the newspaper. Robert gave fully and loved his family and friends deeply.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Kuban; daughters, Tiffany, Tami and son in law Todd Shilt, and Tara and son in law Matt Way, grandchildren, Mersady and husband Ali Bhanji, Raygen, Rylee, Ryan Shilt, Myla and Skyllar Way; great-grandson, Amir Bhanji, his sisters Marilyn (Mike) Rehak and Cynthia (Ed) Ischy, brother Donnie (Teresa) Kuban, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Kuban II and Willie Mae Kuban.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday July 15th from 10:30 AM - 11:30 PM at C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia. His funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. A reception will follow at the West Columbia Civic Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a Mental Health charity of your choice.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Robert's love, spirit, and memory will live on in all who were touched by his life.

I met Bobby the first day he worked at Dow. He walked into the lunchroom and I was the only one in there. I said what´s up young buck and he just smiled and started talking. He told me years later, that he was nervous and that just settled him down and made him feel welcome. I trained Bobby for a couple of weeks there at Mag Casting. Later he got into pipefitting and I was a journeyman by then and at some time I had him as an apprentice for a few months. We worked together off and on at shutdowns and sometimes overtime. He and I worked more overtime than we should have. But we were trying to raise and provide for our families. Sometimes when we were on jobs that had multiple fitters, we would often pair up together. He would pick me and I never complained, he was such a good worker and friend. We enjoyed talking about family and hunting. He was also a very strong Christian and didn´t mind sharing his views. I loved Bobby, he was a true friend. I know he loved his family with all his heart. RIP Bobby

And to his wife, daughters and family you have my most sincere condolences and sympathies. He loved you dearly.

Sincerely
Bruno Wierzbicki
