Robert J. Leski, 76, of Huntington, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in Huntington. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Dew Cemetery in Freestone County with Rev. Pancras Savarimuthu officiating. Interment with military honors will follow provided by Dogwood Post 991 - Vietnam Veterans of America, Palestine. Robert was born October 19, 1940 in Monroe, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1962 when honorably discharged. He served aboard the USS Cadmus, AR-14 during his time in the Navy. In 1962 he married the love of his life, Karen Lea Harte-Leski. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2015. Robert moved from Michigan to Galveston in 1976 where he owned a successful plumbing business, RJ Mechanical, for over 30 years. He also started the first pizza delivery business on the west end known as Mia Pizza. He became an insurance adjuster and traveled until he retired in Fairfield, TX, before moving to Huntington in 2010. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter with whom he lived; Peggy Rains and husband Luther of Huntington; a son, Robert Leski, Jr. and wife Sue of Dickinson; a brother, Thomas Leski of El Mira, MI; grandchildren, Ashley Rains of Huntington; Erica Stevens and husband Tyler of Newton, KS; Chrissy Rains of Huntington; great-grandsons, Landyn Rains, Jaxon Moreno, Oliver Stevens and Emory Rains; step-granddaughter, Heather O'Brien; step-great-granddaughters, Abigail and Maci O'Brien. With much thanks to his oldest great-grandson, Landyn, he was affectionately known to all as "Bob Bob." In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Disabled American Veterans in Bob's name.
