Robert Lupo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 6 to Dec. 21, 2017.
Robert E. Lupo died from complications of Parkinsons disease on Oct. 25, 2017 with his wife, Michele, daughter, Laura and step-son, Peter, at his side in his home in Jacksonville, FL. Bob, as he was known, was born on Feb. 10th, 1934 in Newton, MA the first child of Louis & Alice Lupo. Bob graduated from Wellesley High School 1952 and went on to Univ. of Maine at Orono | but only for a little while as he met and married Eleanor, Dee Dee, Lupo in January of 1954. They moved to Caribou and welcomed their first child, Laura Jean Lupo, on August 6th 1954. Bob was a hard worker always - beginning with his job with the local dairy when he was young until selling appliances for Sears at 79 years old. He took pride in his work ethic and in providing for his family. Bob & Dee Dees second child, Robert L Lupo, came along June 4, 1964. Lupos Clothing opened in 1966 and Bob quickly learned about a business that was new to him. He built Lupos into a thriving fixture in Caribou. Everyone knew that distinctive commercial tag line, Mmmm, That Lupos look. Bob always dressed sharp | whether working with a jacket and tie or just going out to dinner he always looked good. He was important to many people | he helped a lot of folks, but always without fanfare. Bob was a wonderful cook and he enjoyed filling any house he lived in with the wonderful smells of sauce, chicken wings, and so many mouthwatering dishes! He loved cooking for his family. Like one of his favorite artists | Frank Sinatra | Dad had a wonderful 2nd act | after he and Dee Dee divorced in 1990, he married again | to Michele Ouellette. Her kids, Michael, Peter & Catherine were added to the family. Dad & Michele had many wonderful, loving years together. In fact, they celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2017. He continued to work hard and built a home with Michele in Jacksonville, FL which they both loved. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Louis & Alice Lupo, as well as a beloved uncle, Bobby Richal. Bob is survived by his wife Michele, his daughter Laura Peterson of Brunswick & son Fr. Rob Lupo of Brunswick and Bath; his granddaughter Emily Griffin and her husband Rob of Lisbon Falls, along with their son, his beloved great-grandson Everett T. Griffin, sisters Rosalie Sparrow and her husband Syd of Needham, MA and Daria ODonnell and her husband Shawn of Gorham, ME; his beloved Aunt Pauline Richal of Needham, MA; as well as Micheles children Michael Ouellette of Portland, ME and his wife Juli, Peter Ouellette of Scarborough, ME and Catherine Plourde of Dover, NH and her husband Rob along with all of their children | Lily, Emma, and Olivia Ouellette, Sophie and Alex Ouellette & Evan & Caitlin Plourde. A gathering to celebrate Bobs life is planned in the summer of 2018 at Wits End in Brunswick. Donations in Bobs memory may be made to Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131, your local hospice or your local animal shelter.

I am very sorry for your loss. I too have lost a loved one close to me and can imagine how difficult this time is for you and your family; but its uplifting to know that God promises us in Isaiah 65:17 that there is a near future in which we will no longer feel such pain. This as helped me and I hope it helps you as well.

AI remember Bob very fondly and was fortunate to have dated him . He was charming, classy and very thoughtful and kind. He brought my mother flowers!! God bless him. With sympathy to his sister Rosalie and all his family. Ann Burnham Deering
