Robert Mahoney Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 27, 2025.
Robert Mahoney, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, in the Philippines, with family by his side after a courageous year long battle with ALS. He was 75 years old.

Born on August 21, 1949, in Newton, Massachusetts, Robert was the beloved son of Paul J. Mahoney and Dolores E. Mahoney, both of whom preceded him in death. In 1959, the family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where Robert completed his education and eventually settled in Florida. At the time of his death he resided in Valencia, Philippines.

Robert is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Normelyn Mahoney. He was the adored and proud father of his Daughter, Alex T. Mahoney, and his Son, Robert M. Mahoney, of the Philippines. He is also survived by Sons, Ryan C. Mahoney of Atlanta, Georgia, and Erik Maltby of Massachusetts. His siblings, Karen Mahoney Ruder (Timonium, Maryland), Gregg Mahoney (Atlanta, GA), Joanne Galloway (Atlanta, GA), and Paul Mahoney (Columbia, MD) mourn his passing along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched over the years.

A private service will be held in the Philippines to honor Robert's life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to an ALS Research Fund of your choice in Robert's memory, to support continued efforts toward finding a cause and most importantly a cure for this devastating disease.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those who loved him.

I remember all the wild adventures that I shared with Robert. It was never a dull moment, when Robert was around. I will never forget "Mahoney & Associates". R.K.

I think about you every day. You will always be my big brother and you are missed so much. I know that you are finally at peace though. The physical and mental pain is gone and you can finally rest in peace. Never to be forgotten, I love you, Rob
