Robert Lee Mass

Services for Robert Lee Mass, 95 of Tyler are scheduled for Saturday, December 16, 2017 12 Noon at Smith Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Noel Caldwell officiating and Elder Marlon Beal eulogist. Interment will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert Lee Mass was born February 11, 1922 in Crockett, Texas to Arnold Hall and Evelyn Mass. Robert completed his schooling at Willi Valley. He attended New Bethel Church at an early age. He later joined Smith Temple Church of God in Christ. He helped to establish Macedonia COGIC along with Bro. J. C. Brown. At Macedonia he served as a Deacon, president of the Bible Band and taught YPWW.

Mr. Mass retired as a chauffeur for Mr. & Mrs. B.G. Summers for a total of 68 years.

He was married to Eddie Lee Mass and to this union 9 children were born.

Preceding him in death were his first wife Eddie Lee Mass, one son Robert Lee Mass, Jr. and his second wife Verta Beal Mass; five brothers and five sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory six daughters, Evelyn Williams, Gloria Durham, Ann Moss, Rose Murphy, Vicki McCleveland Clayton and Kim McCleveland all of Tyler; three sons Billy Mass, Leon Mass and Jimmy Mass. Special nephew Lonnie Lee Simmons and brothers Robert Glendell, Tommy Hall. sisters Opal Andery, Vernell Stripling, and Odessa Walker. Other nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
