McCormack, Robert S.

(formerly Robert S. Ferry), passed away suddenly at home in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland on Thursday, April 28th, 2016 of complications from pneumonia. He fought two courageous battles with cancer for the past decade. Robert was born at Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital, Jersey City, New Jersey on March 20, 1946 to Mary Ellen Ferry (McCormack) and John Ferry. His siblings include Phyllis Garibay (Ferry) (RIP), John Ferry (RIP), James Ferry, Madeline Starita(Ferry) and Lawrence Ferry. His children are Natalie Halvorsen (Ferry), son-in-law Noel Halvorsen, Elizabeth Ferry, Vanessa Clarke (Ferry), Maureen Ferry and Jonathan Ferry. Step-children Jessie Lundt and Janet Pericak. Grandchildren Veronica Ferry, Ian Clarke, Kaitlyn Clarke, Annessia Williams, Jocelyn Williams and Evan Vann. New step-grandchildren are Garth Halvorsen, Riker Halvorsen and Josie Halvorsen. Former step-grandchildren Kristina Pericak, Eve Lundt & sisters. Great-grandchildren are Donavan Jimenez, Adalia Marquez, Isaac Marquez, Treyvonne Allen and sibling due in December. He has many dear nieces and nephews. Robert grew up in Bayonne, NJ, graduated from Bayonne High School and served in the US Navy on the USS Alstede from 1965 until 1967. Robert married Mary Ellen Wesolowski (Beyer) in Indianapolis, IN in 1970. They moved to Green Bay, WI in 1974 and raised five children together. Robert was a volunteer firefighter and employee of Allouez in the 1970s. He was then employed by American Can, James River, Georgia Pacific for over 20 years. He was a stained glass artist and proprietor of Allouez Art Glass Studio. He was a music lover who played guitar for most of his life, Blues being his favorite. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, canoeing, four-wheeling and more. Robert volunteered for various organizations and schools and was an active civil rights and political advocate. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his former second wife Toni Pericak, whom he built a home with in Bonduel. Robert was a do-it-yourself man who took pride in his homes and loved remodeling. He had a love of learning & exploring and went on to his next adventure in Ireland for the past 14 years. Robert will be remembered as a loving, supportive man who was highly passionate, eccentric and creative with an intelligent humor and colorful personality. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends in both the US and Ireland. Wake & funeral services held on May 2, 2016 Mayo University Hospital Chapel, Castlelbar & Mt. Jerome Cemetery Chapel, Harold's Cross, Ireland. A Celebration of Life event will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at St. James Park, 744 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay from 2-5pm. Friends and family of Robert are welcome to attend. Bring a dish to pass and a musical instrument.
