McNISH _ Robert Haig October 16, 1930 - September 16, 2007 Robert "Bob" Haig McNish, beloved husband of Janet, passed away peacefully in Calgary on September 16, 2007 at the age of 76 years. Bob was born in Roslin, Scotland, and came to Canada with his friend Don Nicholson in 1954, settling in Calgary with his uncle Bob McNish and his family. His fiancee Janet joined him two years later. Bob co-founded and successfully operated Soundtex Interiors for many years. He was actively involved in sports and community affairs in the community of Rosemont. Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Janet; daughter Leslie (Jim); son Ian (Jennifer); grandchildren Erica, Quincey, Michael and David; and brother James; as well as cousins in both Scotland and Canada. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to those who provided tender loving care, particularly the staff at the Foothills Hospital, Unit 36 and the I.C.U. Memorial Services will be held at St. Giles Presbyterian Church (1102 - 23 Avenue N.W.) on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Crawford, Presider. Following the Service, a reception will be held at the Calgary Winter Club, 4611 - 14 Street N.W. from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 - 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 (Telephone 403-264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca ). To Robert's family I would say this..I have known Ian, and as a happy result, Jennifer, Michael and David, for the last 14 years. It is a testament to the strength of our parents that we become hard working, honest, decent, principled people. Ian and his family are that.
