Geraldine Smith Presley, age 94, was welcomed into her eternal home on Friday, December 22, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. She was surrounded by family members as she peacefully drew her last breath. Gerry was born on August 18, 1929, in Hattiesburg, MS, to parents, Birdie Gray and G. Bert Smith.

Her life was forever influenced by being born during the Great Depression, growing up in the South, and being raised in a Christian home. Gerry was deeply devoted to her family, career and faith. She worked in education for over 40 years, primarily as a teacher and librarian. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist church and served in many capacities in whatever church she was a member. She loved entertaining family and friends with the Southern hospitality of a Mississippi lady. Gerry was loved by many because she had so much compassion and love for others.

Other than her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Presley, Jr.; her two brothers, G. Bert Smith, Jr. and Arthur Gray Smith; her sister-in-law, Helen Smith; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clayton and Margaret Stamps, and Joe and Doris Sowell. Geraldine is survived by her son Claude "Tripp" Presley III (Jayme); her daughter, Priscilla Fisher (Michael); her grandchildren, Regan Presley (Angie), Brad Fisher (Christy), Meredith Fisher Munn (Chris), Kirk Presley, Christy Cox Robinson (Hunter), and Kelly Cox Buford (Chase); eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Janet Smith, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family extends great appreciation and deepest thanks to Alpha Senior Care owner Greg Bila and his staff, especially Sarah Reta, during the last five years. Vitas Hospice also gave unending loving care.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
