Age 91, of Lower Burrell, died peacefully Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. Son of the late Robert J. Moineau and Elizabeth Soentgen Moineau, he was born April 16, 1926, in Ford City. Bob moved to New Kensington upon the death of his father in 1942. A graduate of St. Joseph High School and Robert Morris College, he served in the Navy during World War II at Pearl Harbor and Midway Island. Bob spent 36 years with Mellon Bank in their New Kensington and Oakmont offices. Bob was a past board member of the Oakmont and New Kensington Chambers of Commerce and the Visiting Nurses Association. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church Lower Burrell, Serra Club of New Kensington and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan Busch Moineau; children, Clare of Lower Burrell, Gail of Pittsburgh, Robert, Jr. of New Kensington and Fr. John of Irwin; brother-in-law, Fr. Vernon Busch OFM Cap of Pittsburgh; sisters-in-law, Mildred Thurber of Lower Burrell and Judith Busch of La Mirada, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Karl Thurber and Charles Busch; and nephew, Lloyd Thurber. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018, in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068. Mass of Christian Burial, with Rev. John Moineau as celebrant, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Margaret Mary Church in Lower Burrell. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Private burial, with full military honors by the US Navy and Plum American Legion Post 980, will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Lower Burrell.
