Bob Musslewhite was born December 20, 1927 in Lufkin, TX and died on April 20, 2009 in Snohomish, WA at Merry Haven Care Center where he had lived for over two years. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Chilton" Musslewhite, Sr. a very successful Texas trial lawyer, and his mother, Mildred Guinn Musslewhite, a leader in church and civic affairs. Bob was the eldest of three and is survived by his brother, Benton, a successful plaintiff lawyer in Houston, TX and his brother, David (Pattizo), an attorney who is now a Methodist minister in the East Texas area. Bob is survived by his wife, Nicolina and his sons, Robert III (Nadine), James, and Thomas (Karen). He was preceded in death by his son, Mark, and grandson Kevin. Also surviving are his stepdaughter, Therese Baxter Pantoja (Ramon) and stepson, Rich Baxter, his grandsons Bryan, Alex, Robert IV, and John Musslewhite; Paul C. "P J" Wolfe, Jace, Zeke, Trey, and Gus Baxter; and granddaughters Danielle Carrade and BriAnne Wolfe. Bob graduated from the University of Texas, earning degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering. He played football while at UT with Tom Landry (former coach of the Dallas Cowboys). He held several interesting positions in the lumber, paper, construction, oil and aerospace industries. While working in the aerospace industry, he was fortunate to participate in the NASA Space Program. He retired from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Project Engineer. Bob was also a published author of a poetry book called, "Poetry on Ice". He enjoyed working on the computer, dabbling in inventions and writing several books. Bob loved to do crossword puzzles and enjoyed skiing and ice dancing. He and his ice dance partner, Nancy, won the Senior Pacific NW Championships one year. Services will be held in the Chapel at the First United Methodist Church in Lufkin, TX at 2 p.m. on April 27th with a reception in the parlor adjoining the chapel for family in friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to either The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the Alzheimer's Association.

David and Benton,

I am so sorry to learn of Bob's death. He was always so nice to me, a gawky teen, when he lived next door.
