Robert Neiger Obituary
March 4, 2017 after a brief stay in the hospital, Robert (Bobby) Neiger passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side. Born in Akron, where Bob has lived here his whole life. He was employed by one company thru many transitions - Akron Controller & Motor, Magnetek & Grand Eagle retiring after 47 1/2 years service.
Preceded in death by his parents, Iantha (Pete) Bishop and Arno (Helen) Neiger; love of his life Carol; nephews, Denny, Gary and Rick Neiger; and many loved ones.
Bob is survived by daughters, Bonnie (Keith) Alexander and Connie (Jerry) Leonard both of Akron; grandchildren, Raymond (Heather) Messenger, III, Robert (Christina Suppa) Messenger, Haylee (Jay) Defibaugh, Cortney (Jason) Sumpter, Ashley (Marcus Braden) Leonard; great-grandchildren, Cameron Messenger, Logan and Brandon Defibaugh, Ryker Sumpter; brother, Ken (Pat) Neiger of Uniontown; and forever faithful dog, Buddy.
Dad was a great friend to many and loyal to a fault. His forever love of cars and his '68 Mustang enabled him to attend many car shows and amass many wonderful friends. His love for Mom continued to flourish even after her death and they are now together again.
Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle)
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastors Tom Hogsed and Matt McLouth officiating.
Interment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.

I worked at the Cemetery where Bob was laid to rest. I will miss him so much i would spend hours talking to him and hearing stories he is one of the nicest men i ever met. I know he is happy now being with the love of his life as he would call her. I hope all his friends and family how much he will be missed we was a great guy.

A childhood friend of Bobby. My husband worked with him for several years. I new his wife Carol since she was a small child.
Bonnie and Connie so sorry to hear about your Dad, he was loved by many. He is in heaven with my friend Carol. I hope she still has her Fart Machine. haha

To the family, my deepest condolences, on the passing of your Dad.
I worked with him at Akron Controller & Motor, from 1974-1979.
What a great, positive personality. A man whom, helped to ease the rough edges, with laughter. He provided lots of laughter and light heartedness, for myself, Marlin Brown, and Sonny Reese., and a few others whose names, escape me.
Bobby was very hard worker, at 1100 Home Ave. That building, was one step, above a shack. He had the responsablity, of building maintenance.
That building, kept him busier, than anyone in building maintenance. He never missed work.
Bobby was a really kool, even-tempered man, at that place.
I pray, that you all, will receive solace, through our Lord Jesus.

I had the privilege of knowing Bobby since 1974. We worked together at Magnetek for 20 years and we stayed in touch after through car shows and our love of Mustangs. Bobby was a true gentleman! I know all of his family and friends will miss him but knowing he's together again with Carol will provide comfort! Goodbye my friend!

Going to Miss Bobby was an Awesome Friend, and Customer always an encouragement to Us. Sorry for your loss, I Cannot Be at Hours But Will be Praying for Your Family at this Time , Going to Miss Bobby him a Lot but at least he's with his wife again I know he really missed her every day.
