LONDON, Ontario - Robert Palmerson Neil died at London Health Science Centre-University Hospital on Monday, May 21, 2007. Robert Palmerson Neil, of London and formerly of Kingston, was in his 89th year. Beloved husband of 60 years of the late Eleanor M. (Moss) Neil (2003). Dear father of Robert and wife Susan of Whitby, Ontario, Larry and wife Christine of Aylmer, Ontario, and Charles and wife Dianne of Chapin, S.C. Loving grandfather of Jennifer Partlow and husband Matthew, Jason Neil, Heather Borm and husband Etienne, Jeffrey Neil and wife Stephanie, Lucas Neil and wife Mary and Ross Neil. Great-grandfather of Etienne, Annelise and Adrianna. Brother-in-law of Marion Moss and Howard Mills.
Predeceased by a brother, Charles Hamilton Neil; and a sister, Jean Hamilton.
Born in Pembroke, Ontario, on Nov. 6, 1918, son of the late Charles Palmerson and Mary Elizabeth (Hamilton) Neil. Palmer was a veteran of World War II and served overseas in Italy and Europe. He was the laboratory manager for Ayerst Labs, first in Montreal and then in Rouses Point, N.Y. Palmer and his wife Eleanor later retired to Kingston, Ontario. He was a longtime, active member of the United Church of Canada and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer, Ontario (519) 773-8400, on Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, Talbot Street East, Aylmer, Ontario, on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay, on Friday at 1 p.m.
