ROBERT NEUMEIER
ADA — Robert L. "Bob" Neumeier, age 90, died on Wednesday, April 09, 2014 at 2:45 AM at Van Wert Community Health Professionals Hospice, Van Wert.
He was born on August 7, 1923 in Lima, Ohio to Aloise and Anna (Prochaska) Neumeier and they preceded him in death. On September 3, 1954 he married M. Jeanette Long and she died on July 31, 2006.
Bob retired from Westinghouse, Lima after 38 years, where he was an office machine repairman. He was a US Army Veteran who served during WWII where he was a Purple Heart recipient. He also served during the Korean War. He played guitar in his band The Tune Toppers at nursing homes and county fairs. He also played in the senior citizens band. He participated in the Honor Flight. He was a member of the VFW Post #1275 of Lima and the American Legion Post #96 of Lima.
Surviving are four sons: John (Vicki) Neumeier of Maria Stein, Dennis (Bev) Neumeier of LaFayette, Mike Neumeier of Ada and Jim Neumeier of Lima; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shari Hicks; granddaughter, Sarah Neumeier; a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Burial will be in Fisher Cemetery, LaFayette, with military rites.
Friends may call 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #1275 of Lima
