Robert Panzer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 31, 2014.
Robert Chet Panzer, of Houston, Texas, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on March 30, 2014. Born in New York City on December 4, 1943, to Herman and Lilyan Panzer, he moved to the Panama Canal Zone with his parents when he was nine months old.
There in the Panama Canal Zone area are the roots of his childhood days. After graduating from Balboa High School in 1963, he attended and graduated from the University of Houston in 1967, in Houston, Texas. After graduation he returned to the Panama Canal Zone where he was employed as an auditor for the Panama Canal Company/Canal Zone Government. After 30 years of service with the Canal Company, he retired from the Panama Canal Commission on December 31, 1998. After his retirement, he and his family moved to Houston, Texas. Bob was active in his church ministries and was a certified Biblical counselor.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of 23 years; his daughter Cathleen Panzer and his son Robert Panzer (both of Houston, Texas); step-daughter Jacqueline Salterio-Miranda, son-in-law Hector Miranda, granddaughters Maia Miranda and Tatiana Miranda (all of Puerto Rico); and step-son Ricardo Salterio, daughter-in-law Ana Cristina de Salterio and granddaughter Natalia Salterio (all of Panama, Republic of Panama); and brother-in-law John Grow (of Houston, Texas).

But, as it is written, What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him 1 Corinthians 2:9 ESV. How wonderful it is that Robert is now able to see and hear all that God had prepared for him. Robert was a devoted Christian that was willing to share with others how God is real and meaningful to them in their daily lives.

My family was very blessed sharing a duplex with the Panzer family for many years in Panama. Bob was a good father and husband to his family and a great neighbor to us. We are grateful he is now with the Lord whom he loved here on this earth. And our prayers are with his beloved family Pat, Cathleen, Robert, Ricky & Jackie. We love you guys. We will sure miss Bob.
