Robert Pariot

Robert Pariot, a thirty-year resident of Cornwall, NY, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2008, at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was born on November 2, 1926 in New York City and raised in Fieldston.

Bob was educated at The Barnard School for Boys and attended Susquehanna University. Robert was a World War II veteran of the American Merchant Marines, and served both in the Pacific and European theatres. He had an early career as a police officer in New York City. After a time as Chief Engineer and then General Manager of a door operator manufacturer, he started his own business.

Bob was the owner and CEO of ABL Enterprises in Newburgh, manufacturing commercial door operators. After retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively.

He is the son of Catherine and George Pariot, and brother to Bernard and George, all deceased. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Harvey. Together they raised four children: Thomas R. Pariot and his wife, Dorothy of Pine Bush, NY, James G. Pariot of New York City, Janet Caniglia and her husband, Robert of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Gail DaVall and her husband, Ira of Wheaton, IL. His five grandchildren are: Julia Griffenkranz and her husband, William of Philadelphia, PA, David J. Pariot of Oak Park IL, Jamie C. Caniglia of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Marc P. DaVall and Aubrie A. DaVall of Wheaton, IL. Bob also leaves a grand nephew, John Joseph Morgan of Boston, MA, and other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today, December 9, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
