Rob,
No one will ever take your place in our hearts. My sympathy is extended to the Penny family and all of us who knew Rob Penny well. He was a kind and gracious man who will always be remembered.

My deepest sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Professor "Rob" Penny during this time of sorrow. The African world has truly lost a great spirit and human being. In my short stay in Pittsburgh "Rob" made feel welcomed and extended himself to me as a friend and a colleague. Pittsburgh has surely lost one of its treasures. Rob's work and his courage was an inspiration to many. He will be surely missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Rob Penny. He was a former colleague I admired and respected greatly. His passing is a great loss to us all. My deepest condolences to his widow, Betty, and to all of those who have loved him so dearly.

OBA, I saw a King last night laid out as finely as an African King should be…that African King was YOU.
