Robert Perzel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 8 to Jan. 9, 2023.
Robert Charles Perzel, known to all as Bob, died peacefully at his home in Kennett Square, PA, in the loving company of his family on December 7, 2022, at 92.

Bob is survived by his wife, Rita; his children, Robert (Barbara), Donna (Brad Tillinghast), and Deborah; and grandchildren, Leanne, Robert, and James (Ashley). He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth, his parents Michael and Gertrude, and his brother Michael.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on April 13, 1930, he graduated from Germantown High School. He proudly served his nation in combat from 1952 to 1953 in the Korean War as a cannoneer and radio operator in the U.S. Army 17th Field Artillery Battalion (The Persuaders), earning the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded four medals, including the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars. Bob was proud to share his knowledge of history and love of country, recently speaking on Veterans Day to middle school students about the Korean conflict. It was his last great honor.

The family would like to thank his primary care team at Penn Family Medicine, caregivers at Penn Medicine Home Health Palliative Care & Hospice, and Jupiter Charter School teacher Mary Richichi.

Interment is private. A celebration of life will take place later. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to his favorite charity, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, at https://www.vfw.org/foundation
