Robert J. Pizzi

Robert J. Pizzi, age 68, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Friday, January 24, 2025 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born in Quincy, to the late Richard and Leona (Karczewski) Pizzi. He was raised in Quincy, attended Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1975. He lived in Weymouth for fifteen years, previously in Quincy.

He was employed as a chef and food service manager. He had worked at Quincy Mental Health, the Bournewood Hospital in Brookline, and several Boston elementary schools for many years. After retirement, Bob worked at Discount Storage in Weymouth for two years.

Bob loved the outdoors, the ocean, and was a passionate striped bass fisherman and longtime member of the Massachusetts Striped Bass Association. He was also an avid Boston sports fan.

Most of all, Bob was devoted to his family, especially his three daughters and two grandsons, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Beloved husband for eight years of Yan Xiumin.

Devoted father of Jennifer L. Pizzi-Corey and her husband Samuel of Braintree, Christina M. Pizzi-Chandler and her husband Justin of Weymouth, and AnneMarie Mullaney and her husband Mark of Hyde Park.

Step father of Keith Bi of Malden.

Loving grandfather of Evan Imrie and Mark Mullaney III.

One of seven siblings, he was the dear twin brother of Richard Pizzi of Easton, and brother of Donna Sullivan of Mashpee, David Pizzi and his wife Laureen of Weymouth, Adam Pizzi and his wife Danielle of Plymouth, Lisa Bernard and husband Mike of R.I., and the late Scott Pizzi and his surviving wife Maureen of Plymouth.

Bob is also survived by many nieces and nephews.



Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, January 30, from 4 - 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy, on Friday, January 31, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
