Plue, Robert G. "Hap" NORTH GREENBUSH Robert G. "Hap" Plue, age 89, passed away at Samaritan Hospital with his daughter by his side. Born in Albany he grew up in Rensselaer and enlisted into the Army National Guard in 1940 and served with the 10th Army Infantry Company A 106th in World War II. After World War II he lived in Albany and then moved to Voorheesville in 1949 where he lived with his wife and two children until 2000. He lived in Ingersoll Assisted Living for over ten years and for the past year he lived in Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home. Hap worked for the A & P Bakery, Albany County Casting and 29 years for the Dept. of Transportation in Voorhessville. Hap was a happy go lucky guy. He loved to sing and make up songs for everyone to enjoy. He was a member of the Voorheesville American Legion Post #1493. Son of the late Alfred and Rosetta Plue. Husband of the late Mildred (Smith) Plue. Father of Carol Rooney and the late Robert A. Plue. Grandfather of Robert (Stephanie) Rooney Sr. and Michael Rooney Jr. Great-grandfather of Robert Rooney Jr. and Harry Rooney II. Great-great grandfather of Antonio J. Sanchez Rooney. Brother of the late Walter, Bradford, Harold, John, Paul Plue, Marjorie Powers and Emily Bergstrom. Also survived by many sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, Monday afternoon at 2. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the funeral home Monday prior to the service from 12-2 p.m. Interment will be in New Scotland Cemetery, New Scotland, N.Y. The family would like to thank the nurses on the 6th floor at Samaritan Hospital and Hospice especially Melissa and Rev. Michael Crandall for their care, concern and compassion.
