July 25, 1944 - January 24, 2023
Shell Beach, California - Robert "Mike" Polley will always be remembered by his family as a strong patriarch who led by the principles of hard-work, honesty, and reliability. Mike passed away peacefully January 24, 2023 surrounded by his wife and two daughters. Mike enriched the lives of his family members by his generosity, tremendous amount of love, and his culinary masterpieces- oh how we will miss our Christmas Eve dinners inspired by Mike's renowned cooking!
Mike Polley was born July 25, 1944 in Abilene, Kansas to Robert and Wilma Polley. After graduating from Santa Maria High School in 1962, he met the love of his life Diane (Silva) Polley and they married in 1966. Their love story culminated in a 57 year long marriage filled with world-wide travel, glorious sunsets over the Pacific Ocean, and every dance recital, tennis match, softball, volleyball or basketball game to eagerly cheer on their children and grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife Diane, his two daughters Tanya (Chris) Garner and Marta (Matt) Nichols, his six adoring grandchildren; Christopher Garner, Spencer Garner, Dominic Garner, Preston Garner, Couper Nichols and Maddie Nichols, and his sister Peggy Blough.
In addition to the tremendous amount of work Mike invested into the family business, Wayne's Tires, Mike spared an equal amount of energy for his passions which included: driving sports cars, grilling, collecting knives and the love of reading -- you could always be sure to catch him watching the history channel!
Mike touched all our lives, and he will be forever remembered as the steadfast and head-strong friend, brother, uncle, father, and grandfather. He is proceeded in death by his father Robert Polley, mother and step father Wilma and Wayne Hesselbarth.
We love you Dad... We love you Mike...
As he wished, funeral arrangements will be private.

So sorry to here of Mike's passing,can remember all the great times had working for him.He was a lot of fun to be around.Hope to see him again and see if he still has the wig. Robert Shiffer.
