Robert B. Poppe, 79, died, Thursday, January 21, 2013. Robert was born in Cincinnati Ohio to Bernard and Matilda (Rasfeld) Poppe, January 4, 1934. Known as Artie by his coworkers, he worked in the engineering department for the city of Cincinnati for over 30 yrs., before retiring to Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan (Bicknell) Poppe, and his five children: Anne, Christine, and David Poppe, Susan (Bill) Nienjadly and Jim (Janie) Poppe. He will also be remembered by his two sisters, Mary Pollman and Margie Poppe, his 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at noon. Friends may visit with the family at 11:00 am at Queen of Heaven Mortuary, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, and AZ 85204. Inurnment will follow services at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
