Pop was such a special friend. He was the guy who won with the most toys at the end including a snow mobile that could hit 110 mph! Best wishes and remembrances to Pop’s family.

The world was a much better place when Pop was with us. But thankfully we have such wonderful memories of a kind, loving and funny man. We miss Pop and continue to share our condolences with his many friends and family.

"THOUGHTS ABOUT THE DEATH OF BOB POPPLETON......"
I WAS DISMAYED TO LEARN OF BOB'S DEATH. STILL AM. AT THIS STAGE OUR TALKS WERE DOWN TO ABOUT ONCE A MONTH, FROM ME. I KNEW BOB HAD BEEN DECLINING IN HEALTH BUT I THOUGHT (AND HOPED) HE WOULD GO ON FOREVER.
BOB WAS A GIVING PERSON AND HE GAVE A LOT TO ME. HE WOULD GREASE THE FRONT WHEELS OF MY CAR. HE WOULD INVITE US OUT TO THE LAKE TO DO SPEED DONUTS ON THE WATER IN THE BOAT. OR WE MIGHT DO FAST SNOWMOBILE CROSSINGS ON THE LAKE ICE, (FROZEN OR SOMETIMES ONLY HALF FROZEN !).
WE ALSO DID SNOWMOBILE RUNS IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN. THEY WERE WONDERFUL. WHEN I PROPOSED SNOWMOBILE TRIPS TO THE ROCKIES, BOB SET THEM UP WITH ALL THE MANY DETAILS. MEMORABLE!
I DID HAVE JUST A FEW CHANCES TO RECIPROCATE, BUT ONE OF THEM WAS A HORRIFIC TRAGEDY. AT THE TIME LISA WENT MISSING. I JOINED A NO. OF OTHERS SEARCHING THE AREA OF THEIR ENTIRE LAKE BORDERS. I BOTH HOPED AND FEARED I'D FIND HER.
THIS WAS A HEARTBREAKER. BUT I BELIEVE BOB HAS NOW ALREADY BEEN REUNITED WITH LISA, JUST AS ALL THEIR FAMILY WILL BE SOMEDAY.
SO NOW I SAY "SO LONG, BOB, I'LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE."

O Death why do you snatch away the excellent of the earth in whom is all our delight? Why do you smite the goodliest of our friends; the most generous and caring of souls? But we rejoice in knowing that our brother has been called away to Heaven by his Savior, Christ Jesus. To this we bow our hearts in gratitude for being blessed to know "Pop" on this side and the certainty of seeing him again on the Other-side! To our Triune God we give all glory.

Bob was like a 2nd father to me... he taught me so much about life and personal integrity. He was always there to help with investment advise and a kind word. I loved his three phase laugh... it always made me laugh! His memory and love will stay vivid in my heart always... :0) Rick

Bucky, I was so sorry to read of Bob's passing in the paper today. I remember him as a warm and loving person with a nice smile and a good sense of humor. I know you and your family will miss him and I hope you will find comfort as you share your memories.

We have such wonderful memories of Bob going back to when we were all together at EBS. Bob worked so hard on the Indiana State Police account for many years and served that organization and the state with such remarkable dedication. And Bob had the greatest collection of "man toys"--the boats, snowmobiles and Ford cars. We shall miss his warm smile and wonderful laugh. Our sympathy to Bucky and Eric.

So many memories from the past Bob.The old Hockey days when Eric and Pete Eric were players, Lake Wawasee and pleasant parent times together. How often I have thought of you and family. Now it is too late.I will see you on the other side.
