Robert C. Preston Sr.

EWING Robert C. Preston Sr. of Ewing Twp., NJ, passed away at the age of 86 on Tuesday 1/25/2022. Born in Haddonfield, NJ, a graduate of Trenton High School, attended West Virginia University and then served as a proud US Army Veteran. Robert retired after 36 years from the State of NJ Dept. of Transportation as a landscape architect and worked as a security officer at Clover and a driver for Weidel Real Estate. Son of the late Dr. Everett C & Alva Ann Preston, his late wife Gwendolyn Preston, his late sons James P Preston, Robert C Preston Jr. he is survived by his daughters Lisa A Preston of Ewing, NJ, Ruth E Carey of Long Pond, PA, and a son Everett Carl Preston of Daphne, AL, a sister in law Ann Preston of Newark, DE and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved riding his bicycle for charity for Anchor House in Trenton to help runaway children. He was an adventurer at heart touring Alaska and riding his motorcycle across the country and Canada with his loving wife of 60 years. He also volunteered as an Assistant Scout Master with Troop 15 for many years and loved hunting, camping, hiking, canoeing and country dancing along with his love of his church. He was a loving, giving and compassionate father, full of happiness and life. Friends wrote he was a gentle giant and larger than life. He was a loyal friend and devoted husband who will be missed dearly. There will be a memorial service on Sunday 2/6/2022 at 12:00pm at the West Trenton Presbyterian Church at 490 Grand Ave, West Trenton, NJ 08628. Burial will be private.
