Robert W. Richardson, of Hingham, formerly of Scituate, passed away March 29, 2010, at the age of 88. He was the longtime companion of Kathleen Conte of Hingham; husband of the late Roberta Bobbie (Smith); devoted father of William E. and his wife Jean, John W. and his wife Melissa, all of Scituate, Thomas A. and his wife Margaret of Nurnberg, Germany, and the late Karl and his former wife Luann Kramer of Norwell; loving grandfather of Annemarie, Kelsey, Annely, Becky, David, Colby, Joey, Andrea and Tori; and great-grandfather of Carter. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, in Beechwood Congregation Church, 51 Church St., Cohasset. Memorial visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. What can you say about Bob? He took us out on his boat to Logan to watch the planes land over our heads; as an Explorer scout advisor, he accompanied us on unforgettable visits to the 1964 New York Worlds Fair and overnight stays at New England Air Force bases. Looking back, it was pretty clear he had as much fun as we did. His genuine enthusiasm for friends and family is something I will never forget. Godspeed, Bob (SMRTSS)

Our Uncle Bobs taught us early how to live life to the fullest. Always full of adventure, he found joy in every little thing and made all who knew him feel extra special. Uncle Bob will forever be remembered. Special thanks to Bill, Tom, Jack & Karl for sharing your dad with your cousins!! He always made us feel like we were his favorites...although once I was an adult I saw he had that charm to make EVERYONE feel special. We'll miss his laughter, bright smile and sparkling eyes.
