Robert "Rob" Allen Rohrs, age 52, of 64 South Hill St., Dubuque, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 3:18 p.m. To honor Robert's life, services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., with Deacon John Stierman officiating To celebrate Robert's life, family and friends may visit from 11:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Behr Funeral Home. Military honors will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corp. League. Rob was born on August 25, 1962 in Marshalltown, Iowa, son of Dale and Shirley Ann (Doan) Rohrs. Rob graduated from Marshalltown High School prior to moving to Dubuque to join the Colts Drum and Bugle Corp. He joined the military and proudly served for 12 years. He attended NICC where he received his carpenters degree. Rob spent many joyful hours in his workshop and was always there to help anyone with a project. He adored his cat, Spatz and his love for his trumpet never faded over the years. Robert is survived by his wife, Christina Wilson, of Dubuque. His mother, Shirley Rohrs, of Marshalltown, Ia. His brother, Steven (Donna) Rohrs, of Branson, Missouri. His children, Travis and Brandy Cliburn, Leah Rohrs-Hoffmann and Dylan Rohrs, all of Dubuque. His grandchildren, Lealand Potter, Riley Hoffmann and Cody Cliburn all of Dubuque. He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his father. A Robert A. Rohrs memorial fund has been established.

I met Rob in 1975 when I became involved with the Eye-Openers Drum and Bugle corps in Marshalltown Iowa. He was a crazy fun guy and a talented horn player. I am saddened by this news .
