Kent Herzog Obituary

Kent J. Herzog, age 51, of Highland, died at 5:49 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1955, in Highland, the son of Mildred Pastain Herzog of Belleville and the late Aloysius Herzog.

He married Debra Donnelly on Dec. 14, 1974, in Edwardsville. She survives.

Also surviving is a daughter: Heather Herzog Ragan and husband, Matt of Highland; son: Ryan Herzog and wife, Amber of Highland; grandchildren: Kameryn and Konner Ragan; two brothers: Paul Herzog and wife, Colleen of Peoria, and Marty Herzog of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters: Linda Reineke of St. Louis, and Rita Eckert of Mark of Belleville; and his mother-in-law: Pearl Donnelly Torrence of Highland.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Kendra Herzog.

Mr. Herzog was born in Highland and grew up in Troy, graduating from Triad High School in 1973. He was employed at Collinsville Custom Kitchens and then Hopcraft Electric. In 1978, he opened Herzog Kitchen and Bath in Glen Carbon, where he was not only the owner, but also the designer and installer. He was a volunteer at Kingdom Hall, where he was a member .

Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. on Sat urday, Dec. 9, a t Highland Elementary Auditorium.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Dear Deb and family,
We were shocked to hear about Kent's death. He did a great job on our kitchen and all of our friends have commented on the quality of his work. I lost both my parents last year and know how hard it is. I am so sorry.
