Robert SAINSBURY Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 21, 2003.
SAINSBURY Robert, born on September 24, 1944, Rob (Sainsy) was suddenly taken from us on May 17, 2003. Rob will remain forever in the hearts of his partner, Pat Child; his mother Irene Sainsbury; his brother Ken Sainsbury; and nephews Bernie and Aaron. Pat and Rob were best of friends, he loved her and she will cherish his memory. For the past 25 years, Bob was employed as an electrician at the University of Victoria where he was fondly referred to as Electrical Bob. He wasa modest, and quiet man with a colourful sense of humour. Rob loved his home, his boat, his PT Cruiser, his garden and his cats, Spike and Fang. Rob was his own character who took great pleasure in caring for the neighbourhood birds and small animals that were looking for food. He was a generous soul who could laugh as easily as he could cry. We are diminished by his death. Our sincere thanks to our neighbours, to Constable Steve Eassie, the Emergency Ward staff of the Jubilee Hospital, in particular Kristin, and to the many friends who continue to extend their support at this very difficult time. Family and friends are invited to join in an outdoor celebration of Rob's life to be held Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 1:00 pm at the University Club at the University of Victoria. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Rob's memory may be made to the SPCA or the BC Children's Hospital.
