Robert Saylor

On Friday, October 6th 2023, Robert (Bob) Saylor took his last breath at the VA hospital in Nashville, Tennessee after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Bob was easy going, explorative, creative and prideful of his children and his relationship with his fiancé during his time on Earth. He loved the outdoors, and more than anything, Bob enjoyed the game of golf - both playing it and watching it as much as possible. When he wasn't golfing, he loved strumming along on his guitar to Michael Stanley Band, Boston and many other rock and roll classics, as well as baking his favorite oatmeal raisin cookies in his self-coveted Kitchen Aid mixer. Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, Bob was also cursed with loving the Cleveland Browns, which he was sure to pass on to his children! He graduated from Fairview High School and served in our nation's Air Force. Bob spent the majority of his life in the Youngstown, Ohio area, working as a computer systems analyst for PRM and National Real Estate. He was also an active member of the Canfield United Methodist Church for many years, as well as a member of several area golf leagues.

Bob is leaving behind several loving family members: his fiancé, Joni Kohut of 23 wonderful years, his brothers Scott (Danielle) and Todd (Amy) Barber, his sons Corey, Justin (Jamie) and Spencer (Jayme) Saylor and his daughters Brianne (Will) and Cassandra Saylor. Bob also cared and loved Joni's kids as his own - Missy Posterli (Chris), Jamie Kohut and Michael Kohut. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, who will miss him during their growth deeply, the Lautner family and his special dog Bailey. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Joyce (nee Drake) Barber and his grandparents Robert and Viola Drake.

A memorial service will take place in the Spring (2024) at a location/date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Veterans Affairs (VA) facility of your choice.
