I was a student of Mr. Schick in the late 70's at Elkton Middle School. I never would have taken Shop if it weren't required, but I am forever grateful that I did and for all the things I learned in Mr. schick's class. He was a wonderful teacher and many times I have reflected on how my life would be very different if I hadn't taken Shop and learned so much. Through his class he created a generation of self-sufficient women who aren't afraid to do things because he gave us the skills we needed to go forth and be respectful of the danger of tools, but unafraid to use them. He really made a difference. I can only imagine what it was like to teach shop to middle school aged kids, but he did it extremely well. I'm sorry for the family's loss and I hope he knew what an impact he had on our lives. Rest in Peace, Mr. Schick.
