Robert Clark Sledge Sr.

Robert Clark Sledge, Sr., "Clark", age 71, a longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was a graduate of Murphy High School in 1968 where he was a member of their golf team. Clark received his BS from the University of Alabama in 1972. He was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Clark had a love of spending time with his children and grandchildren, football, and socializing with friends old and new. He was a great sportsman, fisherman, and hunter. He enjoyed wine and learning about new cultures and cuisines - he never missed a chance to try a new recipe. Clark had also become a collector of antique coins and artifacts, and loved to refinish and design furniture. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Clark is survived by his two sons, Robert Clark Sledge, Jr. and his wife, Christy, and Nicholas Andrew Sledge; daughter Sarah Anne Sledge Owen and her husband, Bradley; his grandchildren, Kate Morgan Sledge, Jack Thomas Sledge, and Bryant Alexander Owen; his brother, Edward Simmons Sledge III, and sister, Mary Louise Sledge Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Simmons Sledge II and Martha Clark Sledge Cameron. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 23, 2022 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church Parrish Hall followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in the chapel.
