SMULLYAN, Robert S. Of Duxbury, MA, on November 30, 2013, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, from complications of a stroke. Born in New York City on December 5, 1915, to Albert and Clara Freeman Smullyan. Beloved husband of the late Irene (Lapouse) Smullyan. Loving father of Daniel Smullyan of New York City and Deborah Smullyan of Milton, MA. Cherished father-in-law of Char Smullyan and John Sullivan. Dear cousin of Raymond Smullyan of Elka Park, NY. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, Brady and Egon Smullyan and John and Margaret Sullivan; a niece, Margot Capra of Rancho Mirage, CA; and two nephews, Andrew Terris of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Jacob Smullyan of New York City. Graduate of City College of New York and Institute of Fine Arts at NYU. US Army veteran. Lifelong award-winning artist under the professional name of Robert S. Sloan; also an art dealer, restorer, and appraiser. Lover of cosmology and classical music, especially Mozart.
