ROBERT STANLEY SOBOCINSKI, M.D., 81, passed away August 4, 2009. He was the son, of Stanley and Anne Sobocinski who preceded him in death along with a sister, Donna Smith and granddaughter, Kelli Herd. Dr. Sobocinski was a graduate of University of Buffalo Medical School where he received his Doctorate in Medicine. He served as a Medical officer in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Siboney, CVE-112. He retired after spending many years as a Family Practice Physician. Dr. Sobocinski was a member of Phi Chi Medical Fraternity, the American Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Practice, United States Power Squadron Instructor, Houston Hospice Volunteer, Rotary International; Knights of Columbus, St. John Vianney Men's Club, and St. Joseph Catholic School Board Member (Wapakoneta, OH). He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Anne; children, Michael Sobocinski and wife, June, Beth Baker and husband, Chris, David Sobocinski and wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Christopher Sobocinski and wife, Nichole; Jonathan, Megan, Daniel, Meridith and Scott Sobocinski; Jeremy Sobocinski; brothers, Donald and Lawrence Sobocinski. The family would like to offer special thanks to Toni Workman of Girling Home Health and the Blue Team members of Houston Hospice who cared for him the past four weeks. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Mass: 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 10, 2009 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail. Interment: Forest Park East, Webster, TX. Pallbearers: Megan, Meridith, Christopher, Jon, Daniel, Scott and Jeremy Sobocinski. For those desiring, family suggests donations to: Houston Hospice.
