Robert Edward Staley

72, of Brockway Township, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 25, 1952, in Bay City, the son of the late William Jr. and Elizabeth (Sanch) Staley. His marriage to Deborah Delgado was July 23, 1977, in Standish. Bob started working as a bag boy at A&P and worked his way up to produce manager, then assistance manager and finally store manager. He took pride in his work and ended up opening his own grocery store in Skidway Lake for several years. Bob eventually went back to A&P as the Manager and Special Projects Supervisor. He stayed working with the local A&P grocery until it eventually became a Farmer Jack. Bob retired as the sales manager from Lowe's, Port Huron, in 2013. He loved playing the guitar, chess, cards, bowling, coin collecting, painting and was an avid reader. He enjoyed being outside around a bonfire and camping. Bob couldn't pass up a good deal or a yard sale. He always had the best Christmas displays. After his retirement he was able to travel to his home in Tennessee for the winters. Surviving in addition to his wife Deborah of 47 years are three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth (Arthur) Valcore of Yale, Deborah (Sidney) White of Jeddo, and Patricia (Ryan) Geary of Chattanooga, TN; a son, Andrew Staley of Kenockee Township; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; siblings, William (Tena) Staley, Leo (Joanna) Staley, Richard (Penny) Staley, Michael (Debbie) Staley, John Staley, Cheryl (Tim) Kelly, Donald Staley, Ann (David) Voss, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Staley; his first wife, Sherry Zibble; and a sister, Barbara Arbuckle. The family honors the memory of Robert and invites you to visit and share memories Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale, with rosary devotion at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday, December 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors. Rite of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yale. Fr. Tom Kuehnemund, pastor will officiate. Memorials are suggested to "Wishes of the Family".
