Jan and family - Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. Jan, you probably don't remember me. As a grad student, we appeared at your house with a case of beer once or twice to watch Monday Night Football with Bob. I'll bet you've received lots of notes from former students of Bob. And there's a very good reason for that - I know of no other Professor who had such a rapport with students. We all loved it when Bob would join us for happy hour at the pub on Craig St. where we inevitably ended up filling napkins with equations, integrals, etc. I used to tease Bob and say "Drinking and Deriving don't mix!". A truly beloved guy who will be missed!
