Robert W. Strieter

Robert W. Strieter, 89, peacefully passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on August 7, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown, WI, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., with Pastor Sara Knowles officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place, immediately following the service, with military honors. Robert William Strieter was born to Frederick and Mary (Maile) Strieter on August 1, 1936, in Pewaukee, WI. He graduated from Pumpkin Hollow School and earned his high school diploma from Pewaukee High School. Before entering the Army, he was proud of his time in the reserves and working on the Ducks. Over the years, Robert worked as a farmer and was also employed by the Town of Pewaukee and BrownBerry Bakery.

On July 12, 1969, he was united in marriage to Ruth Guetz in Pewaukee. They had just celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Robert was a proud member of the Sussex Antique Power Club and enjoyed driving his antique tractors whenever he had the chance. He liked playing dartball, loved farming, and was a member of the Registered Polled Hereford Association. One of his pleasures was threshing oats every year.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Strieter; children, Kate (Lyle) Schmidt and John (Julie Jeske) Strieter; grandchildren, Sam Strieter, Abigail Strieter, Robby Strieter, and Will Schmidt; brother, George (Sharon) Strieter; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Mary Strieter, and his brother Fred (Jill) Strieter.
