Robert Tate

Robert H. Tate, 61, of Bluford, died at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.He was born in Jefferson County on Sept. 9, 1948, the son of Vasco and Opal (Minor) Tate. He married Rhonda Clark, and she survives in Bluford.He is also survived by sons, Dakota Tate of Bluford, Robert Tate of Mt. Vernon, Jay Tate and wife Keli of Texico and stepson Roger Taylor of Mt. Vernon; two stepgrandsons, Jackson and R.J. Taylor, both of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Allen Tate and wife Carolyn of Walnut Hill; two sisters, Doris Leuty and Naomi Oliver, both of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Andy; and one sister, Shirley.Mr. Tate was owner and operator of Harlow Moving for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, farming and raising cattle.Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with the Rev. Elton Storey officiating.
