Robert Taylor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 10, 2010.
Robert G. Taylor Jr. was born on June 22, 1956 to Robert G. Taylor Sr. and the late Lillie Pearl Taylor in Newark, New Jersey. Affectionately known as "Bobby", he was the eldest child born to this union. He moved to Linden, New Jersey at an early age and received his high school education in the Linden School system. He also attended Northampton Community College and Devry Institute of Technology. Bobby was united in holy matrimony to Cheryl Taylor in December of 2003. He was the proud father of Tiffany Taylor, Tailishae Taylor, Greg Watson, Tracy Willis, Nakia Watson, and Jessica Willis. Bobby received Christ at an early age and was baptized under the pastor ship of the late Bishop Harold N. Foy at Emmanuel Church of Christ, DOC in Newark, N.J. While living in PA, Robert begin to attend Pocono Community Church and continued his walk with Christ. Bobby*s greatest love was for his wife and family. Bobby lived in Linden New Jersey for many years before making the Pocono Mountains' of PA his home. He worked for General Motors of Linden for over thirty-one years before retiring in 2007. After retiring at such a young age he decided to seek employment at DS/2 Army Depot securing a position as a very respected and loved Shop Stewart in which he worked faithfully and diligently until his untimely illness. Bobby was an avid sports fan of basketball, football, and baseball these were his favorite past times. Just to mention, he was not to shabby on the basketball court himself as many of the young teenagers found it hard to handle him on the courts, and soon began to refer to him as "Old School". He also had a love for birthday cake. Any time was a good time for birthday cake, shrimp and lobster. Bobby's pride and joy were his grandchildren. He looked forward to birthdays, summer trips, and just having fun. He was known for giving his grandchildren the best Christmas gifts. His grandchildren were truly his sunshine on a rainy day and he will be missed. Bobby was preceded in death by his sister Sharon Taylor-White. Bobby leaves a legacy of love for: his, devoted and loving wife, Cheryl Taylor; his children, Tiffany Taylor, Tailishae Taylor, Gregory Watson , OH, Nakia Watson (Sharika), MI, Tracey Willis, MI. & Jessica Willis, PA; his father; Robert G Taylor, Sr, NJ; one sister and five brothers, Margie Dove, (Ervin), Antonio Taylor (Barbara), Larry Taylor (Adrienne), Dewayne Taylor (Yvonne), Ronald Taylor (Jo), and Eric Taylor (Salimu); In-Laws, Willie White, Albert Jackson, Bennie Jackson, Michelle James (Robert), Cynthia Burks, Elania Paul, Robin Foster and Valerie Kromah; grandchildren, Brandon, Brendon, Isaiah, Noah, Breanna, Tairae, Daniel, Tyronn, Monae, Gregory and Darrius; great-grand, Jamal; the mother of his children, Casandra Taylor-West (Tiffany and Tailishae); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
