Robert Thompson Obituary
In his free time, Bob enjoyed playing croquet with his father and found great joy in fishing. Following his retirement, he relocated to the Philippines to embrace a new chapter of life.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jr. and Margaret Thompson, and his sister Dena Ratterman. He leaves behind his wife, Vena Rose Thompson; his sisters Sue Chanda (Jack), Linda Thompson, and Lisa Barnsfather (Curtis); his children Anthony Thompson (Melissa) and Alisha Nash (Errin Gnadinger); and his cherished grandchildren Gracie, Lily, Jack, and Luke.
A memorial service will be held on February 8, 2025, at St. Stephen Anglican Church, located at 8005 Vaughn Mill Rd., Louisville, KY 40228. Visitation with family and friends will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church.

OMG. Bobby was a loved fixture at Castaway Lounge, from when I bought the place in 2014. until he moved to the Phillipines. He can sing in heaven with Doug Schmidt, who got there before him.

Bob and I used to be best friends from 1990 when we met until maybe 2005 when we lost touch due to career changes, moving away, etc. He would do anything for his friends, even if it involved driving 300+ miles on short notice. May he rest in the arms of Jesus, forever.

I called Bobby my Favorite Bro. because he was truly that. He called me "Susie"(only person who called me by that name.) He was a beautiful person who loved children. He was my children's favorite babysitter. He was funny and made people laugh. He will be missed by all of his family (those here and those in the Philippines).

Graduated same year as Bob at JHS but didn´t really know each other until we ended up in the same class at JCC. Have been good friends ever since. Even got me into the optical business that lasted 41 years. Condolences to the family. You will be missed.

My very first memory of Bobby was on the day he was born. Back then, you didn´t know whether you were having a boy or girl. My parents longed for a son. They instilled that longing into us. All of us wanted a boy. His birth was an absolute blessing! We were all so happy. I was in grade school at Saint Edwards. I remember going to school the next day so excited and joyfully bragged to everyone that I had a baby brother. He was absolutely beautiful! And such a sweet sweet baby. And a wonderful brother. Loved him very much always will. I rejoice knowing that he is with the Lord in heaven, and my sister Dena and Mom and Dad.

Growing up at Naomi house, the Thompson family welcomed me and my Naomi House siblings with open arms. Uncle Bobby became someone truly special to know. One of my first favorite memories of him was when he chased the kids around Aunt Sue´s house, tickling us with his toes. It was gross, but absolutely hilarious. Uncle Bobby always made us feel safe, welcomed, and loved, leaving a lasting impression of joy and warmth that I will carry with me forever. His carefree spirit taught me to not take life too seriously and find laughter in everything. He was a great person to know. Missing you Uncle Bobby.
