Robert Terence Tolan

Robert T. (Bob) Tolan of New City, NY and Brant Beach, NJ, passed away suddenly on October 15, 2010 at age 73. Mr. Tolan was born June 5, 1937 in New York, NY, the youngest of 6 boys to James and Maryellen Tolan. He attended St. Ann's Academy and City College and joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1956. He spent 38 years as a Special Agent in the FBI before retiring in 1994. Mr. Tolan was a devoted husband, father and brother whose greatest joy was his nine grandchildren. Since his retirement, he enjoyed and spent many wonderful summers with his wife and family at the Jersey Shore. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy, his three children, Dorothy Griffin (John) of Stamford CT, Robert Tolan (Abby) of New York, NY and Elizabeth Kolar (William) of Doylestown PA, his grandchildren, Cayleigh, Mackenzie, Riley, Liam, Brennan, Kellan, Delaney, Owen and Alec, and his brother Thomas Tolan of Jackson Heights, NY. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers James, Francis, John, and Matthew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Nyack, NY on Tuesday at 10:15AM. Calling hours will be at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
